A red wave that never was
By Asa Montreaux
They wrote a red wave would sweep across the nation,
But it never was,
Perhaps they wrote that so you needed to watch,
Or else you would not know, if something terrible would happen,
If a terrorist named Donald Trump would come back.
The truth about extremism is it tears us apart,
And ruins everything we love, not just part of it.
Freedom gives us choice, it give us possibility
With freedom life can be what you want it to be
Something grand, something distinguished.
It seems the world will still be in order.
Abortion will still be allowed,
Everyone will have the opportunity to work, and go to school,
And we will not end up in wars, with nations that will think much better of us.
We win, and democracy will last, and the glory will last forever.
